Robber Fly No orange on the legs and seems to be greyer. Fan-bristled Robber Fly (Dysmachus trigonus)?

Seems to chime with this one here.

Not quite

The yellow tab at the end of the abdomen is the give away.

Looks like a male Eutolmus rufibarbis Golden-tabbed Robber Fly

- you can just seethe golden tab on the underside towards the end of the abdomen.

Robber Fly Machismus atricapillus ? This one shows orange on the legs. But not quite as much as the pictures here. Seems to be lighter colour generally.

This turned out to be the same species.

But one plant had this gall like growth at the base of the plant with a flower head that had numerous extra flower heads extending from the main flower.
