I'm not sure why someone has taken against the `Alexanders in thus way. They also smashed some down at the front of this little oasis.
On the surface it looks like the creation of a photo op stage.
If it was an ornithologist, I'd love to know the reasoning.

This is the Cuckoo Bee of the Hairy-footed Flower Bee - namely the Common Mourning Bee (Melicta albifrons)
These bees do not collect pollen but lay their eggs in the nests of the Hairy-footed Flower Bees.
albifrons = white front - namely the white hairs on the forehead of the bee.
